The Outreach Program Coordinator will support the work of the Institute Director with project management, research, curriculum development, communication, and administrative duties for the Institute's K-12 educational outreach programs.
Develop and coordinate all K-12 educational outreach projects, including curricula development, training, and program evaluation. Manage the Speak Up! Speak Out! project based civic education program and its civic fairs by content creation, teacher recruitment and coordination, implementation, and evaluation. Develop training materials and attend conferences for partnership cultivation and promotion of the K-12 educational outreach programs, activities, and curriculum for the Institute. Create long-term goals for K-12 educational outreach, including marketing materials and evaluation methods. Supervise graduate research assistants and undergraduate student technicians as assigned to assist with K-12 educational outreach programs. Adhere to individual K-12 educational outreach program budgets. Other duties as assigned by the Director.
Other related functions as assigned.
Bachelors degree in education, political science, communication, or public administration. Five years of experience coordinating or administering a program. Experience in developing educational curricula. Familiar with the Texas public education and private education systems. Can work as a team member. Excellent writing and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social media and website skills. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Masters degree in education, political science, communication, or public administration. Seven years of experience coordinating or administering a program. Experience with civic and community engagement programs. Knowledge of Texas and national politics and government.

A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
