Graduate Medical Education Director

The Graduate Medical Education Director is responsible for the development of strategy and implementation plans designed to effect aggressive expansion, innovative program development and sound operating efficiency for graduate medical education (GME) program at Transmountain Campus. Works in conjunction with Residency Program Medical Director on matters specific to overall program goals and objectives including residency/fellowship and certification/recertification process (ACGME, CLER, etc.) Collaborates with physicians and community agencies in areas of planning/program developments. Establishes and enforces policies, procedures, standards and objectives. Directs and supervises workflow of teams. Position has budgetary and fiscal accountability and ongoing accountability for the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination and integration of the department services and standards of care into the hospital’s primary function. Position is responsible for oversight of timekeeping, employee evaluations, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supply orders and strategic planning. Position develops strategy and manages execution through delegation and leadership of supervisors, leads, manager team members and front line staff, and mentors and develops supervisory staff. Also responsible for CME programming, budgeting and maintenance of regulatory requirements (state and/or specialty.)

New full service hospital with 106 beds in northwest El Paso. The Medical Plaza located adjacent to The Hospitals of Providence Transmountain Campus features physician clinic space. The Transmountain Campus serves as a teaching facility for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso medical students, residents, nursing students and researchers. The hospital will train up to 100 medical residents across a multi-year program. Advanced health services in Cardiac Catheterization, Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Endocrinology Medicine/Surgery, GI Medicine, Gynecology/Surgery, Hematology, Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Neurological Medicine, Normal Newborns, Oncology Medicine/Surgery, Orthopedic Medicine/Surgery, Pathology, Pulmonary Medicine, Radiology, Spinal Fusion Surgery, Urology Medicine/Surgery and Vascular Surgery.

Required - Bachelor's degree

Required: 5 years’ experience in leadership with at least 3 years of progressive experience in GME (preferred)

Must have knowledge of Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and continuing education guidelines
