The Department of Educational Psychology contains faculty members with expertise that span the disciplines of applied behavior analysis, gifted education, school psychology, special education, quantitative methods, and learning and development. The primary responsibilities of this position include:
• Directing the undergraduate and graduate programs and other related activities in gifted education; • Developing and maintaining a high level of productivity in research and scholarly activities; • Teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels; • Participating in individual or collaborative activities to secure external funding; • Recruiting, mentoring, and supervising graduate students who are specializing in gifted and special education; • Collaborating with other faculty in the Department of Educational Psychology, departments within and outside the School of Education, the Director of the Center for Community Learning and Enrichment, and the Professional Development School Network.
The Department of Educational Psychology in the School of Education at Baylor University is seeking highly qualified applicants for an associate to full professor in Gifted Education. The applicant will be part of the faculty in the Department of Educational Psychology with responsibilities of scholarship, teaching, and administration. This faculty member will direct programs that offer graduate and undergraduate degrees to students interested in gifted education. Given the responsibilities of the position, qualifications include:
• an earned doctorate in gifted education or a related field; • distinct expertise in gifted education, talent development, underrepresented populations, and/or twice exceptionalities with books, publications in recognized journals, and presentations at the national and international levels; • history of and/or strong potential for obtaining extramural funding; • ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in gifted education and related fields in educational psychology; • experiences in teaching, creation and/or delivery of programs for gifted students; • coordination and administration of programs at the university level; • collaboration with diverse groups of students and faculty; and • a philosophy compatible with the stated mission of the University to be a world-class institution dedicated to Christian principles and ideals
